The bathroom is often in complete disarray with clothes strewn about and toothpaste stuck on the countertop from that rushed morning routine to get the messy child out of the house. It's the place in the house that gets left behind because it's "private." Sure, your guests likely won't be going in your bathroom, so take that stress off your plate. Guess what? Decluttering and creating beautiful spaces means you feel better. YOU. It will never stay the way you love if you do it for someone else. This is a big part of the reason I think starting in the bathroom is the best place to begin your organizational journey. Picture this...

Slide into your sleek bathroom on clean shiny floors Tom Cruise style, blissfully unaware of the weather or noise outside. Steam up your shower with a eucalyptus bundle hanging gently from your shower head as if it were your own personal butler here to ensure your morning goes perfectly. Close your eyes and just enjoy the surrounding, as you reach for your face wash, which is exactly where it should be, not crusted over with drips or falling off some slippery shelf that is chaotically filled with unnecessary products that are decades old.

Climb out of the shower, onto a perfectly absorbent floor mat, and wrap up in that cozy towel that doesn't have the strings hanging off every corner tickling your legs while you wonder if it's the string or a spider, eek.

Imagine the enjoyment of seeing all your products at once, neatly stacked for you, just waiting to be used. Wait, it gets better.

Imagine, and I know this one is hard and seems like fake news, but I swear it's possible. Imagine, your makeup routine, without digging into a rose-colored, leftover blush and eye shadow bin to find the exact thing you put on yesterday, but can't seem to find today. Gasp, is that real? Yes, it absolutely is.

One of my favorite parts of organizing is what I like to call, the final touches. Those small things, the details that really drive home your experience in your space, and often are what motivate us to keep the space clean and organized. For example, have you ever thought about getting a carafe for your bathroom counter? Seems bougie right? Really though, it's entirely attainable and reasonable. The cost is minimal, but it will make you feel like a million bucks to not shove your face under your faucet to absorb enough water to rinse your mouth. You deserve so much better than that!

Usually a smaller space, the bathroom is a great place to start your journey. Utilize my "Throw it away, you'll feel better," post to implement some of those steps in your bathroom and begin to own your mornings again. Get excited about getting ready, and starting your morning off with a little luxury and no chaos can literally change your entire outlook for the rest of the day.

I have put together a few items below that can get you started on your relaxing and chaos-free journey. These aren't the end-all items necessary for bathroom organization, but hopefully, they inspire enough to kickstart the journey.

The Laundry Basket

Even if you don't have your regular laundry basket residing in your bathroom, it is so helpful to include one nearby. Inevitably we all end up taking our daily stress off in the bathroom, and it generally ends up on the bathroom floor. There is a time and place to be on the bathroom floor, but honestly, if there aren't best friends and drinks involved, it likely is not that time. Fill that basket up!

Carafe, Bath shelf, Eucalyptus.

I mentioned this above, and I will reiterate it here. Bougie? Maybe. Useful? Yes.

Makes you feel like you are being treated like a VIP instead of being walked on like a wet bathmat? Absolutely.

These are the items that just make you feel good, and create a peaceful happy space that encourages continued anti-chaos. Treat yourself a little, it will go a long way!

Organization

Of course, we have to organize! Ensuring you have a place for all your pieces, really will take the stress out of your day. The simple act of decluttering and placing items into easily seen and kept spaces, literally gives you time back in your day. TIME. Like, maybe there are 27 hours in a day, but we waste 3 of them searching for things we, "know we put somewhere," but can't ever find. There is a super simple explanation, that includes diligent dedication and willingness. It doesn't have to be crazy, and sometimes it's so easy once you get started, you begin to think in ways that bring organization to your normal thought process. It takes a bit to train your brain and create a habit, but once it's done, it's done! Being coached and creating goals you can achieve is imperative to your success.

A place for every piece. Peace for every place. ~Leah
